Pabbar valley is a virgin land waiting to be explored. This valley is an ideal retreat for those who are leading busy life in cities and metros. The river Pabbar emerges from the Chanshal range of the great mountains and passes by Chirgoan, Rohru and Hatkoti, creating a wonderful valley and finally merging with another great river in the south east called Tons near the town of Tuni bordering the state of Uttarakhand. This entire valley along river Pabbar is called The Pabbar Valley ‘.
The route from Chandigarh to Pabbar Valley is very interesting, full of flora & fauna and natural beauty. At most of the places, you find high mountains on one side and deep gorge on the other side. To reach Hatkoti, which is a spiritual destination in the Pabbar Valley, you will pass through Panchkula-Pinjore-Kalka-parwanoo-Dharampur-Barog-Solan-Kandaghat-Tara Devi- Shimla – Sanjouli- Kufri- Faggu and then will reach Theog. The National Highway 22 bifurcates from Theog and the road to the Pabbar Valley turns at your right side from Theog. After cross Theog, the downward journey starts and we reach Chhaila. From Chailla again, upward journey starts and we pass through Guma-Kotkhai and Reach Khara Pathar. From here the steady descent of the Pabbar Valley starts and we pass by the villages of Parounthi, Bhagoli and town to Jubbal to reach Hatkoti.
Though the road upto Shimla is a double road and have so much traffic, but the road beyond Shimla and especially the Road which bifurcates from Theog and leads to Hatkoti is less travelled and this area is still to be explored by the nature lovers and tourists.
Tourist attractions in and around Pabbar Valley:
Giri Ganga Temple:
About 23 K.M.s ahead of Hatkoti, there is a place known as Khara Pathar, where Himachal Tourism has its own Tourist Hotel named Giri Ganga Resort. The 7 K.Ms trek to Giri Ganga, which can also be covered in a Jeep or Taxi, is enjoyable through thick deodar woods. There is a small temple and the sarovar at the Giri Ganga complex.
Hateshwari Devi Temple:
Some 105-km east of Shimla , in Jubbal Tehsil on the banks of the river Pabbar, exists the mysterious valley of stone temples Hatkoti, the abode of Goddess Mahishasurmardini an incarnation of Durga, popularly known as Hateshwari Devi.

Rohru:
Nestled amongst majestic mountain ranges, Rohru is a bustling beautiful and calm town which is 11 K.Ms from Hatkoti. It has a big Bazar and have accommodation to suit to every body’s budget. Himachal Tourism has its own Tourist Resort named Chancel Tourist Resort. There is a beautiful temple located in the heart of this town, Shikhru Devta.
Chirgoan:
15 km from Rohru. Scenically enchanting, Chirgaon has a trout hatchery. Good fishing spots in the area are Seema, Mandi, Sandhsu, Tikri and Dhamari. Larot is another attractive spot near Chirgaon.
Chanshal :
Like the resplendent crown for a noble face, the snow clad Chanshal range rises above the Pabbar Valley. At 4520 m the Chanshal Pass remains open from May to October.
The journey to the Pabbar Valley will be more interesting if one makes Trekking or Jeep Safari tours to nearby villages like GILTARI, which is 12 K.Ms from Hatkoti and GHIAN, 7 K.Ms from Hatkoti and pass by apple orchards. If you intend to see
the complete stretch of River Pabbar, visit the town of Tuni and from there do not miss to visit Mahasu Devta Temple which is located on the Tuni-Mori road at Hanol in Uttarakhand.
