The Gandhi Bhawan, located in Panjab University, Chandigarh, India, was designed by Pierre Jeanneret and represents his finest work in the field of architecture and is one of the major tourist spots of Chandigarh.
The most distinctive and well-known landmark of the Panjab University, the ‘Gandhi Bhawan’ is the lotus shaped building appearing as if floating in a pool of water. Gandhi Bhawan forms the focal point on the main North-East to South-West axis and is of major architectural importance . The words “Truth is God” are written at the entrance. Today, it also houses a substantial collection of books on Gandhi.
