Rose Garden, named after India’s former President Dr. Zakir Hussain, located in Sector 16-Chandigarh, India, is the largest Rose Garden in Asia.  It was established in 1967 under the guidance of Chandigarh’s first Chief Commissioner, Late Dr. M.S. Randhawa. It is spread over 27 acres of land and has more than 17000 plants representing about 1600 varieties of roses. Along with the roses, emphasis was also given  to the trees of medicinal value and some unique spices of trees to enhance the beauty  of the garden. The annual “Rose Festival”, which has been listed in the “National Calender of Fairs & Festivals ”  is organized  in this garden in the month of February every year. Musical Fountain in the midst of the Garden adds to its  beauty.
